Immunization Services
Foster County Public Health is the only provider of childhood immunizations from 0–18 years of age in Foster County. Staff works with daycares, preschools, and schools to ensure adequate protection against diseases. Our staff can vaccinate adults and assist those who are planning travel to other countries.
Immunizations are offered by appointment 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday (with the exception of holidays). Immunizations may also be available on a drop-in basis based on availability. Call 701-652-3087 to schedule an appointment.
We can bring immunizations to your workplace as well.
Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) will be provided at your appointment.

Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap) Vaccination – Are You Up-to-Date?
- Previously did not receive primary vaccination series for tetanus, diphtheria, or pertussis: 1 dose Tdap followed by 1 dose Td or Tdap at least 4 weeks later, and a third dose of Td or Tdap 6–12 months later (Tdap is preferred as first dose and can be substituted for any Td dose), then Td or Tdap every 10 years thereafter.
- Pregnancy: 1 dose Tdap during each pregnancy, preferably in early part of gestational weeks 27–36.
- Wound management: Persons with 3 or more doses of tetanus-toxoid-containing vaccine: For clean and minor wounds, administer Tdap or Td if more than 10 years since last dose; for all other wounds, administer Tdap or Td if more than 5 years since last dose. Tdap is preferred for persons who have not previously received Tdap or whose Tdap history is unknown. If a tetanus-toxoid-containing vaccine is indicated for a pregnant woman, use Tdap. *Note: Tdap administered at age 10 years may be counted as the adolescent dose recommended at age 11–12 years.
